There’s been a children’s book writer living inside me my whole life. It just took 40 years—and about 10,000 elevator rides—to finally let her free.
Raised in Rhode Island and Georgia, I took a leap in 2003 and flew off to the Andes Mountains of Peru. There, I volunteered with children, learned Spanish, and rode almost no elevators for an entire year.
Today, I work at the International Rescue Committee in Atlanta as a Spanish Interpreter with refugee and immigrant families. Over the years, I've also been a labor doula, a registered nurse, an airline logistics planner, an au pair coordinator, and a volunteer Cub Scout leader. I love reading, writing, traveling, and having new adventures-- every experience is a spark waiting to become a story!
My young son’s passion for all things elevator sparked my first picture book manuscript: UP WE GO! AMAZING ELEVATORS. I'm excited to keep writing stories that spark curiosity, celebrate courage, and remind kids that the world is full of wonder-- sometimes in the most unexpected places, like an elevator!
